Fa was the son of Gao and the father of Jie. "Historical Records" only records that "the emperor Gao died, and his son-emperor was established. The emperor died, and his son-emperor was established in Gui, which is Jie." According to the "Bamboo Book Annals", in the first year of Houfa's accession to the throne, "all the barbarians came to the king's gate" and performed dances at the Shangchi gathering, that is, all the barbarians from the east came to congratulate him. This shows that Xia Dynasty still retains a certain appeal on the eve of its demise. After Fa's death, his son Lu Gui ascended the throne and became Jie, the last monarch of Xia Dynasty.
