On the way, he failed in the uprising in Yan'an and fled to the Chagatai Khanate. He lived in exile in Mobei for a long time. After the death of Emperor Taiding in 1328, the two capitals went to war. Yan Tiemuer supported his younger brother Tugh Temür and sent envoys to welcome him back to his country. In the first month of 1329, he ascended the throne in the north of Helin, changed the Yuan calendar, and established Tugh Temür as the Crown Prince. In August, he went south to Wang Huchadu near Shangdu to meet his younger brother. He died violently a few days later. It is said that he was poisoned by Yan Tiemuer, and it is generally said that he was blamed on Wenzong's side. There is no conclusion in the history books.
